Service Policy
Call 770-422-8820 to schedule carpet, vinyl, and wood appointments. Call 678-287-1760 to schedule tile service.
Every attempt will be made by Georgia Floors Service Department personnel to schedule and complete service calls to meet the builder’s requirements. In order to effectively accomplish this goal, builder personnel requesting service work should do the following:
Contact our Service Coordinators directly by phone, radio, fax or leave a message if after hours.
Provide as much information as possible: a complete and accurate description of the problem, the exact work thought to be needed, verification of repair material available at the job site, and an expected timetable for completion.
If a Purchase Order is required by your company when authorizing service work, provide it when requesting the work.
When a builder Purchase Order is required to order service work, it must be provided by the builder before the Service Department can schedule the work, order materials, or dispatch a serviceman.
Record the Service Work Order number we will give you when you call in your request. This is your confirmation the work order was placed, and serves as a reference number for tracking its status.
Georgia Floors expects to complete our entire schedule of service calls each day. Emergency calls for immediate service work or unforeseen problems encountered on jobs in progress often cause delays, rearrangement, or outright cancellations in this schedule. When this happens, we contact all parties involved as soon as possible to work out alternative arrangements.
Our priority for completing service calls as scheduled is as follows, which builders may over-ride by contacting a Service Coordinator:
1) Sales Closings
2) Homeowner final walk-thus
3) Homeowner appointments (occupied)
4) Builder Pre-closing walk-thrus
5) Other
Georgia Floors will schedule service work with homeowners to be performed only during normal business hours Monday through Friday.
Service work scheduled directly with homeowners will be set up as either an A.M. or P.M. appointment without specifying or guaranteeing a certain time. The nature of on-site repair work doesn’t permit a high degree of accuracy in predicting how long every job will take.
If a homeowner is not at home when we arrive, we leave a “Sorry We Missed You†message on their door to reschedule the call.
If we must delay or cancel a homeowner’s service appointment at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not provide any monetary compensation to the homeowner for “wasted time, lost income or other inconvenience.†We will reschedule the appointment at a time which best suits the homeowner, and in certain situations, we can schedule the work to be performed on a Saturday.
Service work is quoted and invoiced on a labor & materials basis. Refer to the Service Department Price List for itemized labor and material costs. Cost estimates for service work will be provided with as much accuracy as possible, but absolutely firm quotes are not always possible. Georgia Floors will notify the builder as soon as we become aware of changes in our estimates.
There are no service charges for performing inspections or when no actual work is accomplished at the job site (i.e. no repair material available, no show by homeowner, etc.)
Service labor may be quoted and invoiced either by the hour or the piece (i.e. per square yard, per square foot, per each etc.), whichever is most appropriate. Labor rates charged by the hour are designated as either for a single service mechanic, or for a service crew (mechanic plus helpers). Two mechanics working from separate trucks on the same job are charged as two single mechanics, not as a crew. Hourly labor rates begin from arrival time at the job site and end at departure time, rounding fractions of an hour up to a whole hour. Travel time to and from the job site is not specifically charged, but the first hour on a job site is charged at a higher rate than subsequent hours to account for some travel time.
Having the Right Tool Matters
 “Squeak No More†tool allows repair of sub-floor and step tread squeaks without removal of carpeting- provided to builders at no cost.
 Suction-Cup Vinyl Stretchers are designed to allow repair rather than costly replacement of vinyl flooring that has pulled away from the wall.
 Air Sled Appliance Mover: allows one man to move any appliance without damage to hardwood or vinyl flooring. Appliances are moved in an upright position, eliminating spilled contents or damage to walls and doorways.
 Heavy-Duty Floor Grinding Equipment using titanium-tipped implements to grind down concrete slab surfaces to meet specifications for hardwood and vinyl installation. Built-in dust collectors minimize interior clean-up afterward.
 Application of Self-Leveling Cements are mixed into a slurry and poured over uneven sub-floors to flatten and level the surface.
