What is covered and for how long?

Armstrong World Industries, Inc., warrants that all Intiatorâ„¢, Successor, Memoriesâ„¢, Starstep, Traditions, Voyagerâ„¢, Fundamentals, Visions, Designer, Designer II, and VIOSâ„¢ flooring sold by Armstrong as first quality will not discolor from alkali, mold or mildew growth beneath the flooring surface for the life of each product’s warranty.

What will Armstrong do if any of the above happens?

If discoloration resulting from alkali, mold or mildew growth beneath the surface occurs within the warranted period after date of purchase, Armstrong will provide materials of similar grade either to repair the defective area or replace the floor, at Armstrong’s option. If the floor was professionally installed , Armstrong will pay reasonable labor costs to repair the defective area or replace the floor.

Armstrong will repair or replace the floor discolored from mold, mildew or alkali one time. If the replacement or repair fails in the same manner the second time, the flooring conditions may not be acceptable for the installation of sheet vinyl.

What is not covered by warranty?

This warranty does not cover discoloration attributable to or caused by the use of flooring adhesives containing oils or other ingredients that can stain vinyl flooring, contaminants such as oil, gasoline, plumbing primer, spackling compound, or other foreign deposits, coated nails and staples, construction adhesives, or underlayment panels.

What is excluded from the warranty?

Armstrong excludes and will not pay incidental or consequential damages under this warranty. By this we mean any loss, expense or damage other than the flooring itself that may result from a defect in the flooring. No implied warranties extend beyond the terms of this written warranty.

Please note: Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rightd which vary from state to state.

This warranty effective January 1, 1998.
